Lidl UK strive year on year to reduce their carbon footprint and improve recycling levels.
From the simplest customer focused recycling initiatives such as charging for our bags, to our sophisticated Building Management Systems which control store lighting and heating, environmental impact is always at the forefront of our decision making process when we consider developing new Lidl stores.
To achieve logistical efficiency, store stock is carefully monitored in order to minimise deliveries. As a result, each of our stores receives only two or three deliveries per day. The HGV carries store waste and recyclables to the regional distribution centre on its return journey ensuring that this is not a wasted trip.
